Our Journey and Findings
In 2014 many of the items listed on the Items page were bought for a lunch time activity. The Primary School Techsperts group were very interested in what they could build. Then the Computing Students in the high school began to be interested too.
The High School computing group took over a number of devices.
2015 the school priced many items for use in the Primary School. This website was created as a resource for curating all the information we could find.
Our journey continues in 2016 with additional resources and ideas. We also began to implement additional programs including Code Club for Stage 2 and Tech Ninja's for Stage 1 which has rapidly expanded our STEAM makerspace programs outside of the classroom. While inside of the classroom coding and computational thinking are beginning to be included within the weekly teaching programs of our classes. We also began to partner with like-minded schools, St Finbar's and St George Christian to foster non-competitive Think, Create, Connect STEAM challenge days of design thinking, computational thinking and coding.
